hair removal guide: face

We know that not all woman feel comfortable speaking about hair removal, let alone on the face, but let's face it (pun intended)...it's NATURAL! Here are some tips on how to remove that stubborn hair.

MEDIUM COLOR AND MEDIUM TEXTURE FACIAL HAIR:

Shaving

Men are not the only ones that shave their face.

Upside:

  • Immediate results
  • Inexpensive
  • It is easy since you can do it in the comfort of your own home
  • Exfoliates skin

Downside:

  • Grows back quickly

Tips:

  • Use a new razor with three or more blades to cut down on the amount of strokes on the face that could lead to irritation
  • Shave in the opposite direction of the hair growth; the face is the only body part that this applies (all OTHER areas you shave in the OPPOSITE direction of hair growth)

Waxing

Upside:

  • Results last longer than shaving
  • Skin is smoother and the hair appears finer because it grows in at all different stages
  • Waxing also exfoliates the skin

Downside:

  • Waiting for hair to grow back to a certain length to be able to wax

Be Careful...

Be sure that you are not taking any retinoid medications or accutane prior to waxing or laser. If you are not sure whether the medication you are taking contains retin-A or other ingredients, call us and a completely bare specialist will be happy to assist.

Laser

Upside:

  • Permanent hair reduction in several short sessions
  • Less painful than waxing
  • After each treatment, you will see hair become finer and sparser
  • No more bumps or ingrown hair

Downside:

  • In the short term, laser costs more than waxing and shaving, BUT in the long run you will save money.
